Default new here looking for help and knowledge

Hey,
I have a 1967 mustang GT, coupe, I found it for sale on the side of the road, after checking it out i decide i had to have it looks really good and I've had it about 2 years now only having to replace the battery and master cylinder. I've always been into hot rods and have helped with several builds but now that my car is payed off I'm ready to start on it. I hope to do has much as possible myself (which means i will be doing a lotof hands on learning). Heres the kicker this is a daily driver. So the first thing i want to tackle is the steering and suspension. I knowi need a new steering box but i need to know if i need a long shaft or short shaft? The car has a 302 (replacing the dead 289 the swap was done b4 a bought it) and is an original a\c car and has power steering. Which brings me to my next question How do i find out what year model my 302 is? The guyi bought the carfrom was unsure and it sure makes buying parts hard when you cant tellthe partsguy a year.

p.s. any help is appreciated and i look forward to making new friends in the mustang world. pics of my car coming soon.

Welcome to the board! I highly suggest you checkout the Classic section. Those guys can answer your questions. As far as the year of the block, you should be able to find some number on it and run them. That is the only way to know for sure.

Welcome. I would suggest doing that as I am not to familiar with the older stangs. Good luck on your car, I hope it all works out.

Welcome to the board as well. As for myself also have a 67' coupe with a 390 s code. I got it not too long ago. How much did you pay for yours? I paid 12,000 for mine which I wonder if i got a good deal. These cars keep going up every day. Are you going to leave this car classic or are you going to modify it? I'm thinking about making some changes to mine and also have the option to change everything back to original. I'm think about putting 19' in the back and 18' in the front. If I get to do that I would be one of the least to have it done. I've been searching all over the internet for pics of rims these sizes and can't find anything. Good luck with you car man
