I HAVE A 1997 GT THAT I AM DOING A FEW BODY MODS. AND I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT A MOTER SWAP. A FRIEND HAS A 1999 GT MOTER THAT HE PULLED OUT TO REPLACE WITH A LARGE CREAT MOTER.HE SAID I COULD HAVE IT FOR 400.00 IS THEIR ANY HP DIFFERANCE AND HOW HARD WOULD THIS BE.

99s came stock with 260 hp and the 97s were like 220. i believe that the blocks are identical the difference being in the heads. what is the mileage difference between the two engines

Just take the parts off the 99 if the milage is about the same. Much easier then a motor swap IMO.

My 97 has 80,000 miles on it and the 99 has 48,500 miles. if i go with the swap will my wireing harness and computer work? and my second question is will i need any other parts?
