2003 gt coupe 5-speed rear end making noises
hello everyone, new guy here.got a question. have 3.73 gears put in ,and it seems that i have a weird popping noise and grinding noise coming out of the rear end, and it only makes these noises after ihave been driving it a while!! could it be u-joints? and it sounds louder when i put it in reverse??and the problem is that it was done just before i bought the car. i still have a 2 year warranty on it.
but i,m guessing if i took it back to the ford dealer they may not honor the work thats been done to it? and i mean the a$$ END IS MAKING all kind of noises, it looks like the whole rear axle has been replaced. its all rusted, dont look right

it sounds like you had a bad install.. have you taken it back to the place where you had the gear installed and ask WTF!!??

Gears are screwed if not installed by a pro that knows how to do it right. I've done it and everytime they **** up too early. I let my tranny guy do them now. Also, you bite want to drain and PROPERLY top off your gear oil with synth. Good luck.
