Default New here got some questions

Heys Guys My name is Tiller and I just had a quick few questions...

I recentley traded my blazer for 2 mustangsa 88 Model thats in bad shape (body wise) but it has a 5.0 saleen motor in it stick shift of course..

The other mustang has a V6 in it blown up but in almost perfect condition...its a automatic..
O its a 86 model

My question is how hard is it going to be to take out the V6 motor...and tranny and how hard is it going to be to put in the 5.0 and tranny? I know its not going to be easy and Im in for a ride cause I dont know to much about cars but Im going to try it anyway..

Ive always wanted a mustang and now I got one...now its just time for the swapping..

I dont know if it mattr but the 5.0 is Fuel Injected. And I know I have to keep the wiring harness off the 5.0 to put in the 86 model or it wont run...

Im only 18 turning 19 so this is a good project for me =P

In advance thanks to you guys for giving me some tips/advice

Default RE: New here got some questions

I'd repair the GT's body if it's just the panels, you can buy them from "latemodelrestoration.com" and they sell just about anything, if not check with "texasmustangs.com" they'll secound any part latemodel doesn't have....

Otherwise the GT with Saleen motor will be difficult to put into the 86. I wouldn't recommend it if your not entirely ready to work alot on some things, it'll stretch your mind to the limits!

I own two 89's just about, one is being purchased soon, and they're really bitchy about a hell of alot as is, watch the distributor, ICM, and Distributor pickup sensor, they tend to get ill.

Otherwise buy a Haynes manual, a engine crane (whatever you like to call em, that's what the people around here call em, engine cart is another one of the names it has) and make sure to keep em on level ground, otherwise your ganna find setting them in appropriately a ton more complicated. Otherwise it should be smooth sailing, some parts here or there, keep in touch, and reference the tech guys for more info.
