Default bargaining

Hey all,

I just finished school and I want to buy a new 05 gt (haven't decided on the convertible or coupe). This will be the first time to purchase my own car. I've never "wheeled and dealed" with a salesman. I was thinking i'd put 5g's down and work out a plan from there but does anyone have any tips on how to bargain and what the best way to finance is?

Thanks... happy st. patty's day

Mmmm, now's not the time to try to bargain on that car. Dealerships can barely keep them on the lot, let alone fill the orders on their waiting lists. My best suggestion is to contact a dealer in your area that is a Ford Fleet Dealer (they tend to have higher allocations and pull w/Ford) and see what they have on the lot or on it's way in. I've heard of some of these dealerships (Mossy Ford in Mission Beach California) Having a couple of GTs on the 'floor' with discounts to move them off. Mossy Ford is an example of a fleet dealer.

Now is totally the wrong time. Its spring, the warm weather is coming, mustangs are the new hott thing, And dealers are getting atleat MSRP for them. Try a 04 mustang instead. Besides it will save you a few bucks. Good luck and Welcome to the forums.

Welcome to the forums !! Most people seem to get a better shake if they order the car. I heard at work yesterday, that the cutoff for 05's is just a couple of months away. So, my friend is ordering an 06 Vert. then.

Good luck !!

Welcome to the forums!!! Yeah this is the wrong time to try and get a deal on a new 05', If you want to get a good look for a 03'-04' GT, MACH 1, or even better Cobra!!! Good luck on your car search, and if you are going to get a 05' I would just go ahead and order a 06' if you can get them to order it!!!
