Another newbee here
Hey everyone,
My name is Jimmy. I live in Louisville, Ky. I own a 1988 Mustang LX Hatchback 5.0 T-5 that I bought brand new back in August of 88. It was one of two left in town when I bought it. It is Oxford white with tan interior. Over the years I have mad some minor mods to the car. It has 3.55 gears, MAC nickel plated 1 5/8" shorties, 2.5" off-road H-pipe, 40 series Flowmasters, Welded on frame connectors made from 2" box tubing (very strong), and I converted it to MAF after my friend totaled his 89 LX and it became a donor car. The car has over 161K miles on it now. It was my daily driver for over 10 years and was raced most every week with slicks and a 100hp NOS kit. I only ran it in the 1/8 mile and it went a best of 7.96 @ 86.9mph with a 1.72 60ft time. I could have launched it harder, but didn't want to break the only car I had to drive at the time. The stock clutch even held up to this abuse for 130K. This has been a very tough and reliable car. It really is Ford Tough. It even still has the original motor mounts.
Future mods are either a 306 or 347 with CNC ported Twisted Wedge heads, 73mm MAF, 70mm TB and an Extrude Honed PP Typhoon intake. Maybe even another 100hp shot of NOS since I have sold my kit.
I'll post some pictures after I take them.
