im new to the mustang scene. looking to buy a 94-95 GT or Cobra. never owned a mustang before and ive been talking to a buddy of mine whos a HUGE mustang guy, he talked me into getting my first one. Basically what im looking for is a fun, fast car to drive (who isn't) I want to keep it pretty stock body wise, but beef up the motor a little. Nothing too crazy. I was hoping somebody could give me any pointers as what I should look for and what direction I should go. Any advice?

Hey Eric, welcome!

I am in the same boat as you, except I just bought my 95 GT last week.

I suggest 3.73 gears and a shorty shifter to start. You will spend $500 total, and get a noticable performance boost. You can then start the inexpesnive horsepower performance tweaks such as headers, x-pipe/h-pipe (to remove the cats), flowmasters. Then go for the the engine tweaks like cams, roller rockers, heads, etc... cold air intake, throttle body, mass air, etc... there is no end withthe 302/5.0 engine.

That is my approach.
