Bought the wife a 68' coupewith a 6 cylinder for Christmas. Didn't realize whatI was getting into when I asked what she wanted for Christmas. Figured old mustangs were probably around $750-$1500 in decent shape and promised I would get her one. Finally found one in decent shape. It had a dent in the passenger side front fender but body appeared to be in good shape otherwise and was running with no smoke. Cost $3800and the tally is now about $8600. New fender, new wood steering wheel, new gas tank(leaked in the trunk after filling up)new gas cap(original style)newshocks ,spindles, tie rods and ball joints, new front bumper(old one bent and rusty)new paint job(silver) Interior looks like it had been refurbished(no cuts or tears)and dash looks new.New frame rail on passenger side(rust).New white letter tires and aluminum rims.
