First Mustang
Greetings everyone,
I am the proud new owner of a silver 04 Mustang GT. This is the first car I've owned that isn't a 4-cylinder engine and I'm still getting used to driving it. I got my Mustang used, traded in another car for it, and the payments on my Mustang are lower. I've always wanted a Mustang. This wasn't the real reason I got it. My father, whom does not have long left, has a Mustang as well. I believe his is an 05 GT, black with red stripes and the black and red leather interior. He always had the weird dream of a father/son racing team and Mustangs. Heh, I don't know why or where it comes from. I figured since I've always wanted a Mustang, and he has that dream, I can kill two birds with one stone. Now we both have our Mustangs. I know it probably wasn't the best of reasons, but the smile on his face on Father's Day when I showed him my Mustang and that we both now have one, was something I hadn't seen in a long time and totally worth it...
You'll probably see me around asking lots of newbie questions as I am not much of a car person. I am a huge computer nerd though, so there was a trade-off somewhere. If you're in Tulsa, Oklahoma and see a silver Mustang with Shelby rims and a license plate that reads KITSUNE, that's me, driving like a nun.

RE: First Mustang
Welcome to the forums. I'm glad for your father. My son and I both own Mustangs...It's hard to explain why Mustangs, fathers and sons go so well together...it's something like magic. Glad your father has something to smile about.

RE: First Mustang
Welcome to the Forums! I know the feeling my father used to own a mustang and my brother and I have fond memories of it. I bought my mustang b/c I've always wanted a classic car and my brother bought a 07 ShelbyGT last year. Since we're very close and he can't talk about his job (Intel Officer in the Air Force) I thought this would be a great way for us to spend time together and have something to talk about.
I know if my father was like a teenager again when he drove my brothers mustang. It was the thrill and excitement (and memories) for him of growing up in the 60's.
Glad you got a chance to do something with your father that you both will enjoy.
