GT 500...Challenger way to heavy and slow IMO...got friends that race evertime we go out and i'm always in the gt500 cuz i hate to loose

Personally, I think you are asking the wrong question in the first place. The GT500 is overkill against the SRT8, since a GT runs heads up or faster than the Challenger SRT8. Case in point - I have a GT/CS ('08, manual trans, 3:55s) & raced a friend with an '08 Challenger SRT8 automatic here in my little podunk town outside of Phoenix and he beat me by one (1) car length. We both had similar mileage - me 2,800, him 2,450. He got good traction, I didn't. I spun all the way through first, fishtailed 1-2 & chirped tires 2-3, then shut down. I've been told by a Mustang tuning shop in Phoenix, that stock GTs with good tires (ie:traction) consistently outrun SRT8s. Challengers weigh weigh 4300-4400 lbs (they are after all just Charger/300/Magnums with shortened wheelbase and minus 2 doors) and the GTs are 3500 #s. They are cool looking, but slugs. Anyone else have any similar experiences?
