Hey everyone, Im a new member but a forever owner. I have an 88 5.0 hatch that I bought new in Feb 88. 122k km or 76k miles. Stock appearing (wheels included) black with grey interior, power locks, tilt and cassette.
The car is my baby, but I run it hard at our local track (at least, I used to). Stock block and heads, but three angle stock valves, thermactor bump ground out of the exhaust ports, and no AC.
I changed to 3.55 gears (from 2.73) in 1989, along with long tube headers and homemade offroad pipe. Soon added flowmasters and stripped off the air pump. Short belt, short shifter and a set of 26x8 goodyear slicks and I went racing.
Mostly a weekend, fair weather driver that has very limited use all its life, but almost all at full throttle.
Our track is short-330 feet. Good for 1st and 2nd gear. Best 60 ft is 1.79, best time 5.41 at 63.79mph. At the airport drags, no slicks and a 2.23 60ft, I ran a 13 flat at 108mph.
