Very nice ride! I drove one of the 2011 Mustang V6's with the 6 speed manual in a black Mustang Club of America special addition car and was quite impressed with the engine/tranny combo. I don't think anyone needs to be embarrassed that their pony "only has the V6" any longer, unlike the previous generation engine. The only thing it lacked for me was the V8 rumble. But I'll bet the exhaust note can be improved a bit with the right set of mufflers. It still won't sound like a V8 I'm sure, but it will still sound sweet.
BTW, one more mod I would add to your list: wheels. Definitely wheels.
Enjoy the new ride, and welcome to MF!

As for how I drive, I just drive normally. My accelerations are fast, but not flooring it (maybe 4-5k rpm). I'm quick, once at my target speed, to release the accelerator almost completely until it shifts into the highest gear possible. It's kinda hard to explain, but all I know is that it is saving me gobs of money on fuel.
Now, when I pass someone, I go all out, cause a dude's gotta have some fun. Overall, it's a miracle that I get such good economy. Using this same driving style, I'd get 29-30 average (over about 3 months) in my previous 2010 Mazda 3S, and I would get about 28-30 in the 2008 Jeep Patriot 4x4 that I used to own. If I could figure out what I'm doing, I'd probably try to make a YouTube video, explaining it.

I don't think switching to 89 alone would make up that big of a diff. What year, transmission, engine, and rear axle gear do you have?
The biggest part of it driving style, though. It's how I was able to get 25 highway mpg in my old '02 F150 FX4 with the 5.4L.

I have the same as you, 2011 Automatic V6 Stang. And yea I only drive to school and back so like 5 or 10 miles a day but I do tend to get a little full throttle and floor it and burn out and peel out of lights and parking lots. I stopped that though, cus I got pulled over and gave a warning. It is stupid to drive like that.

Going full throttle is quite possibly the exact reason you're not getting good fuel economy. I've found that mid-throttle (with the exception of those few high-speed-required passes) gives me the best overall MPGs. For me, if I go really low and slow, it gives me worse (not better) results, as well. Because of that, I'm pretty sure that once you go below a certain level of acceleration, you end up with diminishing returns on your economy.
