2012 Shelby
Hi Guys:
I am a newbie to this site. I have a new Black 2012 Shelby. I love it and want to protect it and keep it. My last Shelby was stolen just outside of Houston 3 months ago. I SUPPOSEDLY had the best alarm system made. The Police officer that came to take the report said that the thieves are now scanning and shutting off the entire alarm system, I wasted money having this piece of junk installed. I was told by the installer (Best Buy) that it had anti scan technology. (BULLCRAP) . I am now looking for something else to secure it.

security systems will do nothing, look into a engine cut off or removing the spark plugs when you leave it :P
even then if they have a tow truck you cant do anything, its one of the problems owning a 50k+ car.

Welcome to the board!
Have you considered LoJack? I think that even with the power cut, the system has independent batteries to continue to power its GPS transmitter for tracking.
I could be wrong about that, so please don't quote me. If I am right, let me know because I might seriously consider such an anti-theft system.

The police officer who came to take the report told me that LoJack was a waste of money. he said that many cars are taken in parking garages and stripped and the lojack signal is compromised. Yesterday I spoke to a detective in Houston Auto Theft and he said for me to check out Ravelco. He said many law enforcement have it on their personal vehicles. I am scheduled to have one install on Saturday. I will keep you posted. Supposedly they have never had a vehicle stolen.
