New to Mustang!
Hi Everyone.
I have always liked Mustangs, but have never considered them for purchase for one reason or another.
But I am once again in the market and the most recent ones have my attention. The car will be my daily driver as I am currently using a luxury car for a daily driver and it's overkill to waste the miles on a commute. Mustangs are cheap and fun and now they are very appear to be very safe.
I look forward to learning more about Mustangs from this community-- the likes and dislikes, the options and upgrades, etc.
I don't know too many Mustang owners and it will be interesting to find out what you all are like!

Welcome! Hopefully we can answer our questions and introduce you to the world of the Mustang. Got my '06 a bit over a year ago & love it. As far as helping you determine if one's right for you, I'd say it might be helpful to know what you want, don't want, & expect from a car. The Mustang's great (relatively) cheap fun, and the performance has been greatly improved over the last 5-8 years, but I wouldn't expect high-end luxury even w/the nicer options. The modding potential, performance & appearance wise is virtually endless. Just about to put an axle back on mine.
I'm sure others will be more useful than I' esp. Those w/2011 and newer rides, but once again, welcome & good luck.

So, I got around to doing some research.. The new 2013 models have been slightly updated and I really like the changes. It's clear the guys at Ford are always thinking of how to make the Mustang better and better. You can see the progression. It's wonderful.
My daily driver is a Lotus Evora, and it is really is like a baby Ferrari. The problem is it's not holding up to be a very reliable DD. I have learned the truth to the old adage about LOTUS-- Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious. Ha! Too many little issues with this hand built car. Too many shop visits, too much downtime. I wanted better construction and reliability (at the very least during the warranty period).
What attracted me to Mustang was that I knew they have come a long, long way. 5-star crash safety ratings all around. Greatly improved fit and finish, and best of all improved performance.
That said, I'm thinking about the GT500. I know most of you may think is overkill for a daily driver, but for me it's really, really important to do something every day that puts a grin on your face. For me, it's sitting in a truly special car. I like to think of o it as an investment in my psychological well-being lol. Even on the crappiest mornings I look forward to my commute to work. And after a rough day, my drive home seems to make everything better. It's way better than alcohol!

Seems you've done your homework and you know what you want. I wouldn't say it's overkill for a daily driver. don't short change yourself, if it's the Shelby you want get it. Then you have to post pics to make us cry. LOL
