Default Carb to EFI swap

I have been a Mustang fan for a long time. We built a 66 coupe for my son for his firt car. I have had a 79 coupe and now have an 83 GT which is my project car. My wife drives an 05 GT.

I need some help. My 83 GT Mustang has a fairly new engine (15000 miles)but need a lot of body work. I am considering buying a 90 GT that is in great shape but the motor is pretty used up. I would like to know if I can use the motor from the 83, install the EFI components from the 90 GT motor on the 83 motor and use it in the 90 GT?

The feedback I have gotten so far from others is that the heads might not work due to the EGR cross over between the heads and the cam in the 83 HO block might not give compatable readings with the EFI computer.

Any information or leads to some informatin on this topic would be helpful
