Default Volts to running engine only

I want to power "things" only after the enging is running. Meaning, I dont want power say if the key is in the "On Position" but only when the motor is running and from scratch. No tracing existing things that are only powered when its running. This needs to be a seperate circuit that ONLY gets powered once the engine is started and running. Please dont ask what im powering because this is going to a distrubtion block for many things and would appreciate (like i said earlier) no tracing of existing wires or things that are powered at the same specs. As an example ONLY, say I only wanted the radio on when the key in in the acc position and no power anywhere else. I tried to post in detail as some people get confused. I would really appreciate any info on this. If more info is needed feel free to ask. Thanks in advance

Ok. Im thinking of doing this, possibly making a box with a small leaf switch connected to the back of the alternator so when the motor in running the alternator generates a magnetic field which would close the switch and power a relay. Any suggestions ?
