Default Temperature gauge?

My temperature gauge went from cold to hot and then it wasnt even showing anything at all, as if the car was shut off, my car was also shaking a bit and wasnt running good. Any ideas of the problem? And how can i repair it?

Welcome, you may want to post this question in the appropriate tech forum for your year Mustang. Try to be as detailed as possibly when explaining the problem, it paints a better picture for those trying to help.

I would check your coolant level first thing.
