Default 88 Foxbody 5.0

Hello

I recently purchase a 5.0 that set for a few years. Of course it needed a set of tires, but it vibrated terribly and the auto trans shifted poorly. So I realized the the Harmonic balancer, motor / transmission mounts needed to be replaced. So while it was in repair, it also needed transmission work (rebuild). Am I getting ripped off at $2900? I'm not a mechanic and can only do the minor repairs.

I hate to ad insult to injury but you probably could have bought a brand new transmission. Hopefully youll get plenty of enjoyment out of the car.

I dont know if you've already had the work done, but pretty much what Blue said. I had to replace the AT in my daily driver about a year ago and it was cheaper just to have an already refurbished one dropped in than to rebuild the old one. Even then it was still almost 2 grand for parts and labor.
