Temperature gauge?

Temperature gauge?
My temperature gauge went from cold to hot and then it wasnt even showing anything at all, as if the car was shut off, my car was also shaking a bit and wasnt running good. Any ideas of the problem? And how can i repair it?

But just for a quick check, make sure the coolant level isn't low.
