Default Cleaning & care of convertible tops

I have previously owned Mustang coupes but I recently purchased my first new and my first convertible. What is the recommended method to properly clean a convertible top, I've been told that soap is not good. Also since this is my first NEW mustang, I'm looking for good tips on general cleaning and waxing so I don't mess up the finish.
thanks,

Vacuum with the bristle brush head of a wet vac when dirty and dry, use finger nail to scratch off what brush won’t detach. Slightly open top and vacuum in the vert well, open some more and vacuum well in the well, clean with vacuum brush and fingers and rags the pieces that hold the window in the grooves as well. When washing car use water nozzle on small defined hard spray., no soap or rags and don’t dry it

I just had my top replaced, I was told to NEVER pressure wash the top as it wears the membrane out and eventually leaks
