I am looking into what it would take to put a 2013 3.7 V6 out of a mustang into a 68 cougar. looking to see if anyone has done it already. Gas mileage is the big selling point. The cost of the motor wrong a wrecking yard is about the same as if I was to rebuild a 302.

That will cost you way more than the car is worth. Lots of fabrication, all the electronics and hardware...
