Replacing fuel lines
I'm new to this forum and am helping an older friend of mine. He has a 98 GT with leaking fuel around the tank. I dropped the tank and all the lines were replaced with rubber hose. I tried to remove the high pressure connector at the line going to the front of the vehicle but it will not detach even with the required tool. In any case, I want to insure I have the correct hoses going to the correct locations. When looking at the fuel tank with the filler at the left, is the supply pipe is on the right? This port then goes to the fuel filter, correct? The left pipe of the fuel pump should go to the return line.
I understand the 98 has a unique fuel delivery system and the availability of OEM fuel lines is nil. A previous owner must have had problems with the original lines and replaced them with rubber. The owner has purchased new 50 PSI rubber hose and clamps for the installation. I purchased a new fuel filter and filler tube gasket. We should be ready for installation after verification from this forum.
Thanks for any help.
