Ok hopefully someone here has had the same issue as I am having with my 96' 4.6!? So yesterday my wife drive it to work it started dying out, stuttering, sputtering, almost like timing was out. I arrived to look at the car and started to diagnose it. Thought maybe fuel? Well changed the filter, and that wasn't it, fuel pump? Nope found that out when I changed the filter with all the pressure in the line....so I look towards vacuum, don't hear or see any leaks, so now on the electrical!! Here starts my dilemma, car starts fine, idles ok, hesitates in park when I hit the gas but clears up and tachs out pretty good, but as soon as I touch the brake pedal she starts misfiring, and dies, same sequence when I turn on the headlights. I also noticed no taillights, turn signals barely come on now......checked wat grounds I can see including motor mount to frame and they look intact, Alt charging at 14v and battery holding at 12.2......help I'm at a loss on this one!!!

My short was caused by a blown Low beam!!!
