Hi, I’m new to the site. So hi everyone! I have a question that hopefully some one might have some ideas to help me out, or at least point me in the right direction. I have a pro touring 69 mercury cougar with a transplanted 4.6L DOHC out of a 98 LSC Mark 8, with 4r70w , 4 linked rear end with more..
Anyway, I am running a hydroboost from a 2000 mustang GT. The ps pump, lines and rack are all brand new, the hydroboost unit was not rebuilt. It had no apparent leaks, and was a very clean unit, so figured it would be ok. My situation is, when I apply the brakes, I get a whoosh sound. The car does stop well,
When the brakes are applied, I also find as the car is slowing, and the tranny is gearing down, I feel each gear shift in the brake pedal. Is this a sign that I still have air in the system, (I have bled the system already for about 2 hours, on 2 separate occasions), or does it mean the hydroboost itself needs to be rebuilt.
If there is anyone out there that can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. It would put the joy into driving this sweet little
