OMG! Another new guy...
Hey guys, Ryan here from Vero Beach, FL and I'm "newblood" in the Mustang scene, and here's something for you to read...
I'm only 18 and up until the day I turned 18 I didn't even have a license, now I own two beautiful Mustangs. The first Mustang I snagged was a 1989 white LX convertable and I got it for just $1,000. Sadly enough I got in a minor fender-bender and completely ruined the front end, although there was almost no engine damage. I spent $700 to get scrap parts off of old Mustangs and I had all the cosmetic damage fixed, but I got ripped off and got stuck with a rusted out hood, but the car was still drivable so I wasn't complaining. About two to three weeks after that we got hit by hurricane Wilma and wouldn't you know it, I had a tree fall on my car. One of the tree limbs tore right through the convertable top and put a nice foot-long gash in it, so I was forced to put a top over it and let it sit until I can get $500 to buy a new top.
It wasn't long after that 'till I found the love of my life, a 1983 Mustang 5.0 Convertable (black)... from what I'm told, this is the first year the 5.0's were released. I practically stole this car for only $2,000. The previously owner put a brand-spanking-new black top on it with a special "cooling" material so it won't heat up in the sun. A slightly used OVERDRIVE transmission was added to the car to get better gas mileage and as some of you may know, these Mustangs didn't have overdrive back in the day. Also, a brand new fiberglass hood was added on and under that hood they took out the old stock V6 and added a 1993 5.0 V8 with double-barrel exhaust, so now my pony running anywhere from 290-300 horsepower!
