Mach 1 Chick needs advice
I just bought my 2004 Mach 1 on Wednesday. (Competition Orange is so cool!) I love this car, but today I was going to the store and something strange happened. I was heading up the hill in first gear (5 speed) and the car started lurching as if I was stomping on the gas (on off on off about 5 or 6 times) even though I had the gas pedal pressed firmly. The lurching was pretty violent, and I had my foot completely off the clutch and the parking brake off. This scares me because it is a brand new car. Any ideas of what this could be? I am car clueless, so I would like to know if this is a normal new car thing (although I can't imagine it being so) or if I need to take it to the dealer.

Well, I have an 03. Our first gear rpm governor is low, I think like 4K. It may even make a pop sound. Also we have traction control. If your tire breaks loose, like on a wet road, it will cut power and a little light comes on that looks like a turbo fan, it's a actually tire spinning. If that's not it, dealer visit.<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">
