What are you trying to accomplish with the car? Are you planning on turbo charging it or anything? Honestly, if its driveable, I would drive it while you save up for a fox body 5.0.. Those 2.3's were like 90hp at the crank. You dont really need to upgrade breaks or upgrade suspension unless they are broken and need to be replaced.
And welcome to the forums.

if you need new brakes, i would suggest getting them. it aint much fun having a car that cant stop.
bein that its a 2.3, you are not going to impress very many people with it, so if you want to put money into it, fix the suspension up so you can at least offer a smooth ride. unless your transmission is shot, theres no need to waste money on this, unless you have long term plans for the car that involve turbocharging or converting it to a 5.0+

Bio,it seems that everyone so far agrees-keep up matainance on your car and enjoy it.Save your money for a 5.0.Then keepthe car you have now to drive while you have 5.0 in garage for mods and such. You will never get money out of your car that you put into it.Welcome to the forum ,you will get plenty of ideas here.
