Default new to forums, 87 lx 5.0 notch

whats up guys im picking up an 87 lx 5.0 tomorrow as a trade for my 90 integra, i figured i'd go ahead and register and start learning what i need to be doing for the stang. i've always been an import guy in the past, but realizing that i can make 3x the horsepower for the same money is luring me to domestics haha...

so anyway like i said 87 lx 5.0 grey with red interior, it has a bbk intake, x-pipe with turndowns, 4 speed auto with overdrive, 3.73 gear, and a b&m shift kit. im gonna start with some subframe connectors and maybe control arms just til i get used to driving a rwd v8 car (is this what they call "torque"?), but she should be cammed with new heads and on the hose b4 too long.

also have a lil turbo civic coupe i'm driving, sohc 1.6 VTEC stock internals dynoed 196hp/185tq to the wheels on 12psi. she only weighs 2100lb though. best i ever got at the track on it was a 9.5@73mph though due to traction issues http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1374629

Welcome and glad you got rid of the 90 Integra for the Stang. Now if it was a GSR from a different year, I might have kept it. You have came to the right place to learn.

Welcome, i too went to the darkside of v8's, but their so much more fun then a fwd 4 cylinder, dont get me wrong my nissan was damn quick for what it was when i was spraying, it ran a 13.6@102 on a 75 shot, but the mustang just feels so much more bad *** and powerful. Your going to get addicted to the modding bug, i already got an ORXP,mac intake, dynomax mufflers with no pipes and my 4.10's are on the way and the PI conversion and motor rebuild is coming this summer. Good luck with the car
