I love the stuff. RP makes good lube. Use it for oil, power steering and run Purple in the coolant as well. **** works great for me...

Started with M1 in my supercharged F150. Changed to RP and love it. I started with M1 in my Mustang, and looks like I'll be switching to RP...again!

Nice write up. I don't think I have ever seen a side by side comparison and how it affects internals. Having always used RP, but recently switched to M1 it looks like I am going back to RP even though it costs a bit more.

Ok with weather last weekend was nice so I was able to help my friend remove the Valve covers from his 2005 Mustang GT with 61,400 miles, he also used RP the entire time. His car is a Manual and drives the snot out of it, he has already killed one clutch. He is removing the covers to have them powder coated.

Here are pictures of his cams. (I did wipe them down for the pictures)

Remember this is 60,000 miles with one type oil, the car was driven hard and put away wet.

This shows 2 real world cars with high milage and no wear.

This is a very informative thread.

However, we are missing one thing. Everyone says RP is bad because it builds up with sludge. Is there a way you and your friend can pull off one of the oil pans to check for the sludge level? I think that would really top it off, and put all those morons that dis RP without ever using it in their place.

Trust me if there was sludge in that engine you wound DEFINITELY see it with valve covers off.
