Honest answer--it doesn't matter. Any major brand synthetic will be fine...

cant ever go wrong with amsoil, RP is good but a little pricy, redline, all of those are group iv synthetics.

i was running amsoil but had to go on a long road trip with no notice so i didnt have time to order and i dont even think theres anywhere in this town that stocks amsoil so i bought pennzoil ultra from wally world (not even positive its a true group iv i keep reading different ****, some ppl say it is group iv some say its a blend). reguardless i did read a lot of good reviews and found UOA's from 7k mile OCI's and the results were great. doing RP would have cost about 15$ more at walmart and i think its only 7500mi OCI as well...so that would have been wasted money IMO.

im using a K+N oil filter but its expensive as ****. 15$ for the filter, theres much cheaper ones that are still rated for longer OCIs. but first you need to decide what oil your gonna run and how much your going inbetween OCI's.

and as far as weight, ford reccomends 20 but if you look in the oil section youll see a thread about going to 30 and the guy got better gas mileage and gives reasonings why ford even reccomends 20 in the first place. i used 30 and did get about 20 more miles a tank on the hwy.

If your vortech is tapped in the oil pan then I would run a 5w-30. As for oil, how long do you plan on going between changes? Is your car a weekend car or DD? What kind of driving do you do? shorts trips, all highway. stop and go? Do you go to the track?
