Yeah i have heard of box style manifolds. I know that Comp Cams makes one but who else does? And why is a box manifold so good for boost? How is it different? Sorry to ask so many questions. Just wanna make sure my baby gets only the best. ha ha ha

The box intake will make sure all cylinders are getting the exact same pressure and air supply. I run a box on my 86 and a Trick Flow Track Heat on my 88. For high boost 15# or greater I would go with the box style. I have a downs box on the 86 but I think you could be happy with the Trick Flow or Comp. Not much difference in performance when you are just talking about a box in front of the cylinders.

[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley20.gif] Cool thanx. So you think the Comp cams box should be relatively good. I was just scared to get that because I thought it looked kinda cheesy with the plastic. But what do I know.

What about the manifold in my first post of this thread. Is that considered a box manifold. It says it is good for turbo's. Plus it is Trcik Flow so it should be a quality product.

If I needed a new one, that is the one I would consider.

you can check out the BBK SSI-R too... http://www.mustang50magazine.com/tec...ake/index.html

Box intakes are good for power adders because the intake velocity is already up where it needs to be to produce power... so you can run a normal engine with a power adder and box intake instead of needing a high-rpm stroker combo to get the intake velocity higher
