Default Engine management?

I don't own a mustang personnally, but my friend just bought a supercharger off of a guy for $800. It's to go in his 93 mustang 5.0.

He's told the supercharger does 9-11 psi. I know for any other car that 9-11 psi requires some kind of engine management or it'll die. But i don't know anything about v-8's so would he be able to run 9-11 psi without a chip or something? I know the computer can adjust but can it adjust enough for the increased boost?

When adding boost it is always a good measure to upgrade your fuel system, and maybe pull some timing especially if it has already had the ten minute tune up.And if the engine is all stock and no forged internals, remember in 93 hyperpathetic pistons don't like boost.
