Just ordered a dry kit for the rustang today... Ordered the NOS 5115 kit with purge...Got about a week before its gonna be here, so next week is looking like a project day... I've read around on nitrous but have only dealt with it on my dad's race car (modified mud racer with 1050hp shot)...but the nitrous he used was an unbelievable amount but he had a fuel injected toilet bowl system with unlimited fuel... I'm puttin the shot on my daily driver and not planning on blowin the heads off just yet... I've heard that you retard your timing 10 degrees and close the spark plug a little to help ensure no preignition... i beat a z28 with a 150 shot the other day and he says that hit nos wasn't working right, but i was waiting for an excuse cuz he's that type of guy so i don't really know if it worked or not, either way a was ahead by a few links and next time we race i wanna be ready in case it didn't work... hehe anyways, any info with personal experience would be great cuz i really don't want to have to be lookin for part after the first time i hit the "go baby go" button... check out the sticky up top that says nitrous questions or something like that.

they posted a quickie pic by pic install i did w/ that same kit. it's really str8 forward, i have installed 3 of those 5115 kits.

the instructions make it appear to be harder than what it is, if you really wanted to, you get it done in 3 hours tops.

the cleaner you do it, hide lines etc. the longer it will take. you can always re-route stuff later.

you only need to retard 2* for every 50 hp your spraying max...and no less than 10* initial is needed. i have been spraying on 80 jets w/ 14* initial timing, and 93 octane

gap stock plugs at about .035"-.040" and start w/ timing at 10* for 100 jets or less.

if you have the stock fuel pump, look to do a 190 sometime this year, it's chreap insurance to make sure the stocker (which is 13 years old now) is up to snuff, the stocker will keep up, but it might be getting tired.

mount the bottle in the right side of the trunk, and run the feed line through the rubber grommet plug right there.

Alright...Thanks for advice... She's showing 179k on the odometer but the car has been through several hands so i have no idea on the motor... Hoping to get it some time this week and get it installed... The store manager at the Advance Auto i work at has a lift so i'm gonna try to get it on there to hide the lines right and make it all look good... But thanks for the advice on where to mount it... That's one thing less to figure out... Thanks
