Are the bbk 1-5/8" egual length shorty headers any good performance wise, and would headers make a difference in the sound.

 

your gonna hear it way to many times. get long tubes. many say shorts might give you 5hp. long tubes are in 20 to 25 hp range but they are one of the hardest bolt ons to do on a 4.6.

 

equal lengths will give you 5 hp, but thats not the point. why do it half ***? just get long tubes

 

thanks, how hard of a bolt on are they and is there any difference between 2003 and 2004 mustang? as in parts saying 99 to 03.

 

The long tubes will be a bitch..04 differs from 03 that you'll need O2 extention harnesses.

I read in MM&FF that the BBK UNequal length shorties dynoed almost the same as long tubes...wouldn't be the bitch to install either.

 

they dynoed nearly the same because the dynoed them open headers....i quit reading mm&ff after that article and realizing how completely ignorant they are[sm=smiley24.gif]

 

That they did Nomo...You know more that I do about this, if they had the full exhaust put on, how much of a difference would there be?
