yea im close enough though about a hour or so it took me 1 hour and 15 minutes in traffic to get to RET but yea i dont have a pms i just have the SCT chip and Xcal2 which is also a hand held tuner

 

99roushgt - How do you like the snow meth injection? Has it allowed you to run more boost?

yea it allows you to run alot more boost as it basically is high octane fuel , it helps prevent detonation and cools the intake air temps , i had tons of success with it on my last car and swore by it, but on my stang i havent had that great of luck with it due to the tuner i had a tuner who never tuned it before try it and just couldnt hack it, i highly reccommend it as well as everyone else with it as long as you have a tuner who is quite skilled in tuning the methanol injection

 

I would like to use it with my kb tune not so much for additional power but just to keep from detonating with a couple more psi. You think I could use it this way without a new tune? 9 psi is right on the edge now and I'd like to get up to 12.

you need to get it retuned to run meth. without a tune you can actually lose hp

 

my tuner ****ed some **** up. he squeezed 50RWHP out of it with an AFR that looksl ike it was drawn with a marker and ruler.

 

I know it would have to be tuned to be optimal with the meth, but I am already running 25 degrees of timing so all that can be done is lean it out some. If I don't run a real high meth ratio it shouldn't make it too rich. I don't really want to lean it out, it's daily driven all day long and would just as soon stay on the safe side. All I want to do is keep detonation down. KB poopoo's any tuning and snow says it should work like this. I would the progressive MAF system so it should put the appropriate amount in for a given boost.

 

im only running 25* timing because im playing it safe. low timing means low chance of ping. i could easily run another 5* but i dont.

 

unless it was gonna be big bucks there is no way I would not repair the intercooler. Methanol injection is fine and works well, but no way I would trade an intercooler for it.

Maybe use both?

 

"only" 25* tt[:-] that's pretty aggressive....i run only 18*tt so there's still more power at this boost level



im intercooled w/ meth inj...picked up 40whp on a mustang dyno just spraying it (no tuning). the ic was a bit hot so the #'s are probably a bit higher than they would've been after a cool down but you get the idea. it was enough hp (especially for 300 bucks) i decided to play it safe and not tune for it .


definitely fix your ic or buy a new one
