Default Boost reading Differences

The boost/vac gauge was installed on the car when I got it.
It always read somewhere around 6-8 lbs.
I never paid alot of attn because it's just a DD and it has a small SC on it.
It never read vac, only boost since purchase.
So, while cleaning up the engine compartment I looked for other places to hook it.
It was hooked on the nipple above the TB (hose used to go to the VC).
I moved it from there to the port on the bottom of the upper intake on the drivers side.
Now it shows both. I can't get it out on the road right now.
Will it show a different boost number? And if so was the other place a better place to get it from?

Thanks KO

Default RE: Boost reading Differences

If it was always showing boost and never vacuum, then it was not hooked up right to begin with. The car should only be reading boost levels when you are actually under boost which would generally be at WOT. During normal everyday driving, it should be reading a vacuum because you would be running N/A for all intents and purposes. A supercharged car usually only runs under boost for a few seconds at a time.

Sounds like you have it hooked up to the right place now. Can't really tell if it will read more, less, or the same when under boost. Depends on how many PSI you're actually pushing.
