Default 97 s/c numbers?

Ok, I am trying to decide a route to go for my stock 97 gt once I pay it off at the end of the year. My goal HP is around 450+. I am looking to go blown and not to go NOS. The kind of performance I want is around the lower RPM numbers.I want to be able to launch hard as well as have a lot of pull from low to mid gear (around 2000-3100 rpm) I was looking on this site for a s/c prices and looked at the projected numbers for the vortech. 290hp??? WTF? Is that right? It is at the bottom of the page. http://www.superchargersonline.com/product_detail.asp?PartNumber=V4FH218-010S

Anyway, if anyone can recommend a route to go to attain this kind of performance, that would be wontiferous. I already have the bullit suspension, but that's all. And, could someone please clear up the low numbers for that blower? Thanks a lot, gents.

P.S.: I know I have asked a couple of you about your cars already, I am just looking for some more input.

uhh. vortech doesn't give you any low end power, especially out of the hole. so you're not even looking at the right blower. look for a KB or saleen.

Well you two are a huge help. For a couple of guys that have as much experience in mustangs, that was the worst display of being helpful i have seen in a while. If you aren't going to give any helpful advice, then just don't post.

dude theyre right though, the power you're looking for will not come from a centri blower...

for you to base your numbers on...i have a full bolt on 97 GT and have a complete mongoose kit sq trim waiting to be installed, my tuner said with it in i should be between 310-320rwhp...its hard to make a great deal of hp without doing the intake/cams/heads...oh and for your goals you'll need a built motor btw

While they are right, they are coming off misleading. With full suspension 315 tires or better and a slip out - you will getting out the hole pretty damn quick. i think the centri is best coupled with a 4.10. With that gear and a v2sq, youll be hitting boost fast, but one of the benefits of the centri is that you dont make boost at 2k rpms. This uses less clutch when feathering out, burns less tires, and also allows you to have a better chance at getting traction before the boost hits - making your car faster in the long run. what they are telling is that the centri wont make power until 2800-3000 rpms - which is 100% correct, again remember that with full slicks and supporting mods you can tach 3500-4500 and ride it out or on the street - you dont need to do that, lord knows a 4.10 on a stock GT will lightem up - you can slip out 2k rpms hook, hit boost and be gone... giving you a chance to beat cars that might even outpower you by 30-50 rwhp.

you're basically asking a question you already know the answer to. you asked about a vortech kit but described everything you wanted that only a twin screw/roots blower provides. instant power and full boost almost immediately just aren't possible with a centrifugal.
