Default Magnaflow catback for 94 GT

Anybody familiar with this application? I listened to the sound clips on Magnaflow's site and they sound awesome. It's hard to tell how loud it will be in real life though. I like the increase in power and torque that they show and also the enhance exhaust note however, I'd still like to able to listen to my stereo at moderate volume. I had a Dynomax super turbo cat back system which was ok except for the resonance at about 1800 rpm which was pretty much at my highway crusing speed.

wont be overwhelmingly loud with the stock x-pipe. i got the magnaflow catback for the v6 and it is only Loud at/above 3000 rpms but is deep throughout the powerband.

But you have a V6 with a single inlet....

On a GT 5.0 with dual exhaust, even with the stock midpipe it's going to be loud and sound good. The best part about Magnaflows is the no-drone garbage, you can have a conversation or ride around with the windows up and not go deaf.

You were right Dan. I installed the system this weekend and it sounds good. It is quieter than I thought it would be considering the mufflers are a straight through design. It is actually quieter in the car than the Dynomax super turbo system I had on years ago. Aside from the factory header which is a bit restrictive, it is not hard to see why the stock H-pipe causes quite a bit of restriction. At least on mine (94 GT) the H=pipe necks down quite a bit...from 2.5 inch diamter to what looks like about 2 inch diameter right before the secondary cat. I am sure that an aftermarket H or X pipe with a constant diameter and high flow cat's would make a big difference in performance and sound. I assume that the later years Ford straightened out this neck down thing since to me it makes no sense. All in all I think it sounds like a GT should sound right off the showroom floor....not too loud but does have some authority with it's deep tone.
