Default supercharger causing idle problem??

I have a S/D 88 mustang and i have a couple mods, Off road X pipe, BBk Headers, Msd Ignition, Ported and polished stock headers, and a V1 vortech super charger boosting at 8 lbs. i dont have a cam but im having a really bad idle problem and im wondering if the supercharger could be to blame. any help, ideas, or direction?

You def. need a tune. However since your mods are minimal, the supercharger should not affect your idle. Check to make sure your MAF is securely tightened. Any air escaping will cause a terrible idle(happend to me).

I should also add that you should check for any vaccuum leaks. Make sure the clamps are securely tightened around the SC.

he doesn't have a maf, speed density.

Honestly you'll probably get more help if you post this question in the speed density section: https://mustangforums.com/forum/speed-density-carb-ssp-section-45/

Check this site out: http://www.muscularmustangs.com/iac.php
There are all the common causes for idle problems. Look into all of them, just ignore part 5 (cleaning the maf) as it doesn't apply to you.

You shouldn't think it's unfortunate. Alot of people swear by speed density. If I had a standalone on my 5.0 I'd throw the mass air away in a heartbeat.

Did you get the idle problem fixed?
