I was wondering that as well; is there any way to retrofit a stock Cobra supercharger to fit a 2v 4.6???

the price you'd spend trying to get that to work, you could just as easily buy a supercharger kit that was made specifically for your car. don't bother trying, just buy a vortech or procharger.

damn [:'(]

would it be cheaper, I was wondering, to buy a sc and then make my own kit?? sc's seem to be selling on ebay for about 500 bucks or so for just the blower unit.. what else is including in the kit besides tubing, injectors, brackets, nuts, bolts, an air filter, fuel pump, kit..?

would all those pieces seperately add up to over $2,000??

I guess making my own would be pretty damn hard, too, though

the main thing is the bracket...unless you can do some custom fab or find one of those on ebay too, you're kinda screwed. the injectors will run about 250 (32lb), fuel pump is around 100. if you decide to go with a t-rex on top of the intank, that's another 200. piping is cheap...just get some couplers and a little bit of welding. then you've got oil feed lines and return lines. all the A/N fittings (those little things add up quick). you'd also need some sort of fuel pressure regulator or an fmu (the kit probably comes with an fpr which will run about 100 bucks seperately). after all this and the work it would take to fab some of the stuff...you'd might as well just get the frikin kit.

250+100+200+100+700.. 1350.. + random stuff (800??) = 2150...

but that's a lot of time invested in making the kit, and a lot of effort. if i'm being paid 10 bucks an hr working, and i spend 40 hours making this s/c that's 400..

2550..

still cheaper than a kit, but it would be a lot of work to do, and probably wouldn't be worth it.

did you include the chip + tune in the random stuff? yeah.. you'd be better off just buying a complete vortech or procharger kit for a thousand more that's actually made for your car. oh, and it would have instructions!!!
