A turbo uses the exhaust gases that are cooled down and then ran into your intake. The turbo must spool up to begin to produce pressure or boost. A supercharger is connected by a pully to your serp. belt and is spinning at the rate the engine is, therefore instant power. There are several kinds but roots and centrifugal are most common. The roots sits on the intake manifold and the centrifugal is almost like a turbo that is mounted to a bracket so your belt can turn it.

WTF ???????? That is so wrong it makes me laugh.. [8D]

A turbo uses exhaust to spin an impeller that is attached with a shaft to another
impeller that compresses outside air and pushes it into the engine.

Both s/c and turbo have "spool up" times.
Turbo lag or waiting for turbo to spool up is a thing of the '80's
new designs spool just as fast as Centrif. S/C's.

Basically both use an impeller to create boost.
the S/C uses a belt mounted pulley to spin impeller and robs engine HP to do it. ( just like your a/c or p/s)
the turbo uses wasted exhaust gases to spin impeller and makes more HP at same boost level, due to
not robbing power to make power like an S/C does.

Both have their ups and downs and pluses and minuses

What about pos displacements?

Probably not a good idea to give advise on something if you don't know.

Hot exhaust gasses are one of the most important things to a turbo, If the exhaust gasses were cooled the turbo would lose a lot of efficiency. The heat makes the exhaust gasses less dense so it takes up more room so there is more there to turn the turbine.

Some superchargers are connected to your serp belt, some have their own belt. Superchargers sping alot faster than engine speed due to the s/c pulley being smaller than the crank pulley.
& roots don't always sit on the intake. I've built a few kits that are remote mount usually on the side of the engine. The t-bird supercoupe is also another example of this. It may look like it sits on the intake, but it actually is just located above the engine, it doesn't blow straight into the intake though, it goes to a front mount intercooler, then to the engine.

OMG! dude!![sm=icon_rofl.gif]im embarrased for you!! get your facts straight before you try to help someone! lol. yea like fox said with the remote mounts, me and my buddy are in the process of remote mounting one on a outboard boat motor! its crazy but cheaper then any centris i can find. (and if anyone can finda centricheaper then a junkyard roots, let me know).

yeah basically a turbo routes your exhaust into your intake manifold. the plus side is you don't need to run pipes out the rear of the car!!!!!
