Intercooler
I was talking to this guy at out local hangout, and he was talking about this "new" technology where you dont need an intercooler. He said you fill your winshield wiper bucket with some sort of alcohol, and a tube runs to that into a part where the turbo is to cool the air. He said the performance is better with this "cooling device."
Is this BS? I didnt get the whole story he said, but has anybody heard of such a thing?

RE: Intercooler
There is such a thing as a water to air intercooler, but it is as big and in most cases bigger than a conventional intercooler. Sounds like you met a professional bench racer, they to hang out cruise nights and car shows, but, mysteriosly you never see them at the track and there car alway "apart".

RE: Intercooler
someone from this forum has that thing that you fill with the window washer fluid, not alcohol though. it cools it a lot and it's like running like 109 octane or some ish. i haven't really researched it, but someone here has and actually got one installed. maybe he'll peak his head in.
errr.. isn't that stuff called methenal or something? yeah.. i think that's it. whatever is in that window washing fluid, it's half water and half of that other stuff, which is what that intercooler kit uses that that guy is talking about.

RE: Intercooler
Methanol injection. Methanol cools the intake charge the most, but the downside to it is it will slowly corrode your plastic parts. Most people use the setup with just water which has two good sides 1. It cools the intake charge quite a bit 2. It will help clean the carbon out of the engine. The only setup I've seen activates at WOT, when not at wot the water never touches the intake.

i think it was mm & ff or 5.0 that instaled it and they got like 60Hp out of it. i would def have a intercooler also though.
