Default Mac pro chamber's off road

i have the mac pro chamber off road pipe for my mid pipe. Does anyone know if it is hollow inside? From what i have read it is supposed to keep the pulses smoother but i would like it to be a little rasspy. I have a lot of money in my exhaust and still dont really like the sound.
Since buying the car my exhaust is now.
flowtech shorty unequal length headers 1 5/8" $170.00
mac pro chamber off road midpipe "bearly" used 2 1/2" $150.00
flow tubes 2 1/2" fit between midpipe and mufflers $80.00
flow tech terminator mufflers 2 1/2" same specs as flowmasters $110.00
flow master turndown tailpipes 2 1/2" $100.00

the current combination has no drone whatsover and is pretty quite at idle and sounds good under load at wot. Today i removed the tailpipes and its a lot louder, with very bad drone and sounds like crap at low rpm. Tomorrow im going to try some turndowns bolted to the mufflers and see if it changes anything. A shop could of made my exhaust from headers to tailpipes $250.00 and now im upset that i went all bolt on for $600.00 and i am not happy with the sound.

What would fix my high priced exhaust now without spending a lot more money? Hpipe? or should i go with different mufflers and put the tailpipes back on? I dont really want to go with a different midpipe because the one i have costs more than a new h pipe. sorry for the long post. im just trying to figure out how to put my money already invested to good use. and no i dont have any emmisions or inspections to worry about in SC.

3 days later and not 1 reply? I tried bolting on turn down pipes right after the mufflers, but its still a lot of drone, i think I will put the tailpipes back on for a while and consider different mufflers. Of all the clips i have heard i think i want some magna flow magnapacks. As long as i keep the tailpipes on it sounds fairly good with no drone im just looking for a meaner sound. what really sucks with playing with exhaust is you have to weld it in permanent or really crank down on the clamps so it will stay together for a few days wich makes it a pain trying to get it apart later trying different parts.

Hey there man,
Um it might be ur mufflers, to each his own i really dont know to many ppl using flowtech mufflers. if you looking for raspy i think slp loudmouth 1's or the bassani or mac catback may do it. Me personally im going with flowmaster 2 chambers and the off road mac pro chamber .

when i got the car there was some welding that had been done on the exhaust, when i got the car on the road I brought it to a shop to have them cut out the mufflers that someone had welded in and install flowmasters, and the owner of the muffler shop told me there was already flowmasters 40 series installed lol. Anyways after installing new headers, midpipe i was muffler shopping at a local speed shop and i saw the flow tech terminator mufflers compared to flowmasters and the design spec was the exact same due to flowmaster losing there patent. even the cutout view is identical and a lot cheaper but im not going to argue the difference between the two . its hard to find a good exhaust clip with the mac-pro chamber that doest have engine mods.

The mufflers you have are flowmaster knock-off's..same thing minus the name..flowmasters are notorious for their drone..which is why you have drone..magnapacks will give you a very nice, deep sound, and just pure insaneness under acceleration

Thx for the replies. I really appreciate it. Overall the flowtech terminators are very good mufflers for what i paid compared to flowmasters but they are just not what im looking for. Im going to search for the best price on magna packs before i buy them in the next few weeks.

I have mac o/r prochamber with slp 1's. It's loud and starts to get raspy around 2200 rpms. It also has the pop on decel if you like that. It definately gets everyones attention when you roll by. I was in your boat over the summer, not really sure what to do because I wasted money and wasn't satisfied until I put on this combo. I don't think I'm gonna be messing around with the exhaust anymore. Very pleased with the 1's and prochamber. my 2 cents.
