Default Dumps???

I currently have the 10 series of Flowmaster mufflers, and was wondering if I could just cut the tailpipes off right after the mufflers and run the car like that. Would there be any issues or problems with doing this? Doing this is basically like dumps and it wouldnt cost anything and the car should become like 5x louder. What does everyone think?

is it a daily driver? wouldnt cutting off the pipes contribute to more of a drone? not sure though just a thought.

It will be pretty loud inside the car and you will have to deal with carbon monoxide. Therefore, not a good idea. And yeah, it wouldnt look right from the rear of the car without the exhaust coming out the back.

ya, I didnt think of that. yet another reason why it isnt a great idea. just keep what you have and if u dont have an o/r midpipe then get 1. That will make it louder.

I really didnt think about the carbon monoxide and the way it would look from the rear. No I dont have an o/r midpipe, I wanna get the o/r h pipe from mac, but dont really have the money. Thanks for telling me not to do it.

mine is done like that the only problem is you get a constant drone in side the car. i don't have a problem with exhaust gasses coming in to the car with me so i wouldn't worry about that.

what are you trying to accomplish by chopping the exhaust besides sound? If it's for racing purposes you could have a couple of 'y' pipes fitted just before the muffles. The stem of the 'y' comes from the engine side, one arm goes to the muffler, the other has a quick release plate that stays on for street driving. The plate comes off for racing allowing the exhaust to come out before the mufflers.

http://www.headerdumps.com/ these are in a 'T' configuration but same thing.

I think this is what 'wwmost' was referring to.
