Turbo swap from a '89 Probe 2.2L turbo/intercooler into '79 2.3L Mustang Cobra. Does anyone have the specs on the Probe turbo? I know it's air to air and has oil line feeds, but I need to find out the boost ratings and if it's actually better than the stock turbo on my Mustang. I'm just getting into turbos and could use any information you guys have. I scored the whole turbo and intercooler, complete with down tubes and everything else from a junkyard here in town real cheap.

What size turbo is on the car now? & btw air to air is a type of aftercooler(intercooler), the turbo would be oil cooled or water cooled (in this case the 1g probes are water cooled). I'm not sure is swapping is a good idea. The turbochargers on those cars were already too small for the 2.2.

 

why would you want a turbo off a smaller engine if yours isnt good enough?
