cats or no cats?
It'll sound louder -- a little or a lot depending on the mufflers you have behind them.
It will make more power, too, maybe only a little (5HP is the least I've ever seen) but if you have mods, then more, and if you have a lot of mods, a whole lot: maybe 30 HP.
But it is illegal. I know a lot of guys do it and get away with it, but I run cats on all my cars: it just feels like cheating to me so I keep the car legal when its on the street. (But I have cutouts ahead of the cats and open them at the track, of course).

I would leave them on, I doubt you would even doubt you would get 5hp, i read a ls1 magazine where they put longtubes, midpipe and catback on a Zo6. When they switched from the high flow cats to the straight pipes they only made a couple horsepower. And thats a car has over 400 hp and as everyone knows the morepower you have the more power you make and he's most likley got alot more power that you. Also its really not worth it with all the problem with global warming and the polar ice caps melting. Keep em on, your grandchildren will thank you!
