ok i just picked up a GT front sway bar.. will the stock V6 brackets work!?!? i know the bar is thicker.. but ford may have used the same brackets and just used more bushing to fillthe space??.. i dont nkow..

The brackets will definately line up again, its just a matter of the bushing being able to wrap around the bar and
fit back into the bracket.

Hmm I don't know for sure. I understand what you mean on if the bushing is just cut down on the GT so all Ford needs to do
is make one bracket... If you want, I'll go run out to the garage real quick and see how the 4.0 bushing with bracket fits over my
Hellwig.. (which is definately GT spec)

lol.. you made me verrrry curious. Soooo, I had to go check!

Had to cut the factory bushing off sway with a boxcutter. (Easy )
(Hellwig already cuts them for you so they slide right on)

Slid under Pony and the bushing "does" go over the new sway... (Pic 1)
But, the bracket "somewhat" fits over the bushing.. (Pic 2)

I don't know.. unless I knew the diameter of the GT bushing, I would measure and see if its the same
for the 4.0 bracket.

now i got loads of spare timework ahead forme.. i have to pull the heads off my 1970.. shes burning water.. (headgasket)...i want to pull the motor out ,and a more aggressive cam in it while im at it, and re-paint is ford blue.. the mild cam in it has the same duration but more lift... but my dad wants me to just do the gaskets then in the fall do what i want with it :P..

then i have to cut my rear bumper for my duals

then i also have to install the GT sway bar
