+1. The best thing you could do would be to watch out when your driving for black ice. Me personally, i'm not gonna drive as much during the winter being as i only have one car.

If leaving the car at home isn’t an option do we have any suggestions for snow tires? Unfortunately I don’t have another car to drive, and i herd snow tires and slow careful driving was my best bet... thanks for any suggestions..

I bought a set of 17" silver Bullitt take-offs last week from http://www.haneymotorsport.com/ for $295.95 plus shipping. I'll keep the P-Zero tires for future use when my current ones expire. I'll use the silver Bullitts to mount up a winter set of tires using the Bridgestone Blizzaks.

Hey there,

I've got 16inch steel wheels for the winter (2001 Intrepid Steel wheels fit the 05-06 Mustangs, and can be found for cheap) and studded tires. Now I would highly recommend going with Ice Radials rather than studs... I've got the ABS/Traction control option on the car, and even still you can get quite a bit of tire spin on the go under certain situations. I got the studs for dirt cheap so I went with them, but an Ice radial will definitely give you more traction with this car, as you just tend to get in a situation where the studs will cutout a nice little grove out of the ice, and you'll just sit there spinning. Later

Tire Rack has Steel Wheels that will fit the V6 (16 x 7 - $54 each).

Personally, I'm considering the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50.
These are rated for "Severe Snow Performance"
I plan on running them only when there is Ice or Snow.
I will use the stock wheels and All Season Tires when the roads are dry.
This is what I did on my 90 5.0 LX for about 10 winters in Minneapolis

The WS-50 does not come in P215/65R16.
I will need to get P205/65R16.

The Pirelli Winter Carving tires have an aggressive looking tread, and were reviewed very well. I may get those instead of the Bridgestones. But I'm getting 17" tires to use on my take-offs (not sure of avail sizes in 16").
