Default Is this where you measure the pinion angle?

My drive shaft measures 0 and measuring the pinion from the bottom of the pumpkin shows 3.5-4 degrees. The instructions for the CHE adj. LCA's say an anlge of 2-3 down(pinion pointed down) is recommended. Well right now it looks like it's pointing up almost 4 degrees if i'm measuring from a good spot.

Measure from the yoke.

Have you looked under your car? There doesn't seem to be a flat surface on the yoke.

You can take the measurement from the top or bottom of the center section...
If youre going from the top, reverse what the angle finder says...

Ok I think I made the LCA's too long. Measuring from the center section of the yoke I get 3 degrees to the right of zero, the rear section of the drive shaft measures 2 degrees to the left of zero. If 2 is a positive degree and 3 is negative that means +2-neg3= 5. My yoke is definately pointing down compared to the drive shaft.

Also should I use some lock tight on the jam nuts for the LCA's?

The yoke should be pointing down... under torque, the center section will rotate upwards...

I think I was substracting wrong.

https://mustangforums.com/upfiles/32...1224FDE063.jpg

These instructions say to subtract the drive shaft angle from the pinion yoke. Not that it matters much because if my rear end is -3-2 that still equals -5 for my pinion angle which seems to be too much.

Ok, I think I get it now. After looking around on the net I realized that the angle being positive or negative doesn't matter.

So the equation is DS(driveshaft)-PY(pinion yoke) or in my current case 2-3=-1, so my pinion angle set now is -1. Does this make sense?

I'm driving myself crazy!!!!!!

You are correct. The outer surface of the yoke is tapered. I hope that machined surface on the bottom of the pumpkin is machined parallel to the yoke. It looks like it is.
