Tokico D-specs w/o lowering

I like to run "the gauntlet" - Sand Canyon-Little Tujunga Canyon. FUN!!!! I got a girl to lose herlunch thru there LOL
I know, I was being sarcastic. My car is track toy first/ driver second. If I drove it daily I wouldn't get ridiculous on the alignment. I'm planning on going to LAGUNA SECA (screw Mazda!) in October.
I do prefer the adjustmentknob on the Koni's as compared to the Tokicos. I have more than one buddy that has lost the damned thing.

My favorite little run is up Stunt Canyon Roadto the stop sign at the top of the hillwhere you make a hard 170 degree right hand turn and run down Schueren Road untill it T's at another stop sign. Tuning left on to Rambla Pacifico you continue downhillto where Rambla Pacficohits Los Flores Canyon Road where you turn left and continue down to PCH. This is hard set of roads to drive quicklyasthere are many narrow, sharp, blind 2nd gear turns and it's a bit bumpy in spots here and there and everywhere due to the land shifting which is why so many of theroads are now closed to through traffic. You use to be able to take Rambla Pacifico down to PCH but it has been closed for many years now. Ramblo Pacifico was the better road on the way down and LFCR was the better road on the way upbut now you have to take LFCRoad both directions for the lower segment due to the closures.
The run from Mulholland Hyway to PCH via Latigo Canyon and Decker Canyon Roads are also pretty good but be forwarned that on Latigo Canyon Road you will be drivinga very tight canon road mostly in 2nd and 3rd gears if you are driving it really fast. Also notethat if you are driving downhill from Mulholland Hywayto PCH fast your brakes will getpretty toasty, pretty fast as there is no time for them to cool off between braking zones because the whole thing is a braking zone if you are driving it right. Well setup brakes (racing brake fluid, high temp pads and stainless steel brake lines), are a requirment here and spindle mounted brake ducts are recommended even if you have a big brake kit cause you are going to have to be on the brakes constently to make good time.
I stopped driving on Sand Canyon long ago as there were getting to be too many houses and too many soccer moms in minivans tying to kill me.AndIMO Sand Canyon isboring, too straight for too long as I recall but if yougot toSand Canyon via Little Tujunga thatwas the onlygood part of the drive. But Little Tujungais too short withtoo limited oportunities to mix up the route. You really need to go to the mother road, Mullholand Hyway or the old classic Mulholland Drive to get the variety to keep it really fun.
Another one of my favorite drives used to be to blast up Azusa Canyon (CA39),to Angeles Crest Highway stopping at the bar at Falling Springs for a burger and a coke and backdown through La Canada. But many moons ago there was an earthquake andlarge parts of Highway 39 fell off the side of the canyon walls from which it was carved andinto the canyon andCal Trans nevermanaged to get around to fixing it and it continued to fall off and they had to keep closing more and more of the road. So one of the best freaking roads ever with great burgers, ice cold beer and a mother/daughter team with the mostincredible real ***** had to close the restaurant and inn.[sm=smiley6.gif] I was so sad the day that happend, I missed the ***** tremendously and the women attached to them to this day.I also used to drivefrom La Canada taking Angeles Crest Highway all the way to Wrightwood for a lunch break and back down the 15 to the 10westback into town. This is a GREAT summer drive if you have the time though the return drive is boring unless you run the road in reverse but that makes for a long day if you like to have a nice drinkinglunch in Wrightwood and want to drive sober. I used to do it all the time but I started to like my liquid lunches and thought it stupid to drive in that condition even back when I was much younger andsmarter.
Cheers!

No chance there RF. But honestly, for someone looking for a decent set ofstreet dampers that arevery easy on the behind (better than stock),but still have much better control than the stockdampers they are an excellentchoice!
Cheers!
Thankyou F1Fan I appreciate that. I love reading your replies to these questions because they always have an explanation that goes with it even though you could get away with just a yes or no answer. As an engineer that turns wrenches on a daily basis and inhouse customers wanting to know why it broke not just what broke I can understand how difficult or tedious this can be at times. The very upgrades you mentioned(camber bolts and phb/brace are on th radar as upgrades very soon). I do like the ride(others think its to stiff)but if I can upgrade the suspension and keep the ride from getting stiffer or even make it better thats priceless. Once again thank you for your time, I will not hesitate to ask in the future.
Have a good day

F1Fan, that setup is darn close to mine and I think its perfect- d-spec and toe are identical to yours at thetrack...I run between -1.1 and-2.5 camber depending on the track (usually -1.5). I've tried the d-specs a bit firmer but the 2.5/3 turns (front/rear) seems to be the sweet spot even after I put the rollbars in (which, again, made this stang a whole new breed).
I'd love to run PCH sometime...I drove it in the 90's in a sedan but it would be great to take the stang out there.
